Class Baskets
What are Class Baskets?
Class baskets are one of the fundraising tools we use to raise money for our great school. Each classroom has a designated theme (see below for your class) and parents purchase small items to fill the class baskets. Items donated to the class baskets will be parceled for the silent auction and may be used as door prizes.
What should I donate?
Donations of vouchers or tickets (restaurants/stores/movies/parks/zoo/science centre/rec centres/playgrounds/theatre/dance/concerts/sports games/fitness/Calgary attractions) work for these themes, but below are some other suggestions as well. You may want to partner with some classmates for your donation or if you have more significant items to donate, consider donating those as individual entries to the silent auction.
Where do I drop off my class basket donation?
Drop off class basket items at your child's class any time between now and October 26. We will also have a table set up at the Oct 26 recycling event at William Reid School from 3-6pm so donations you can bring them then. Please note that while class basket items can be sent to the school any time, the only time that silent auction items should be brought to the school is Oct 26 3-6pm at the Oktoberfest table with an auction item information form.
KINDERGARTEN: Fun for the whole family
Ideas: games, puzzles, crafts, art supplies, magic tricks, movies, books, camping or hiking gear, treats you enjoy as a family
GRADE 1: Food & Drink
Ideas: chocolate, treats, baking and kitchen tools, recipe books, aprons, baking/cooking/drink ingredients, dried or canned goods
GRADE 2: Recreation & Leisure
Ideas: books, sports/biking/outdoor/camping/hiking gear, indoor and outdoor games, crafts, scrapbooking, art supplies
GRADE 3: Reading & Learning
Ideas: book, comics, magazines, science kits, building kits, crafts, games, puzzles, reading light/pillow
GRADE 4: Pampered Parents
Ideas: coffee/tea/drinks, chocolate/treats, foods parents enjoy (olive oils, balsamic vinegars, crackers, jellies, mustards...amuse-bouches), aromatherapy/candles, massage/pedicure/manicure/facial/bath items
