Get ready, the countdown has begun! But we need your help!! The more auction items we collect, the more friends and family we engage, the greater the funds we raise. William Reid School's biennial fundraiser rallies parents, teachers, students and friends of William Reid to raise needed funds for great school programs.

Oktoberfest is this year's ONLY fundraising event organized by William Reid School parents. Parents decided several years ago to combine all of our fundraising efforts into one great social event instead of having smaller fundraisers (selling chocolates, baked goods, coupon books etc.) throughout the year.  

 

Our other fundraiser is a casino that occurs approximately every 24 months, so our next one will not be until next school year. Unlike this Oktoberfest fundraiser, the funds collected through our casino have government restrictions on how the money can be spent.  Thus, Oktoberfest is an important fundraiser because it enables us to purchase programs and learning tools for our great school without restrictions. Student agendas, teacher resources, school clubs, and school events organized by parent council like Fall Fling and Last Blast are all examples of what gets funded by Oktoberfest.  Proceeds may also assist our school with funding library materials, musical instruments, computer/technology/audiovisual equipment, the Artist in Residence program and maintaining the school ground naturalization area.

Thank you to all of the parents who have already donated so much of their time to organize Oktoberfest.  Remember that this fundraiser requires donations and participation from all within our school community to be a success! Even if you cannot attend, there are other ways to contribute including donating or soliciting auction items, making a monetary donation, and participating in the silent auction online.
